Getting ready for TCS Lidingöloppet: 3 tips from a passionate runner
From swimrun to TCS Lidingöloppet.
Andreas Hjalmarsson, Business Development Manager på TCS, has been a dedicated runner since 2018. There have been many races during the years, from marathons to swimruns. Among them, the ÖtillÖ (Island to Island) – the unofficial swimrun world championship. And of course he has battled the hills of TCS Lidingöloppet.

Andreas loves the combination of experience and physical challenge. A feeling he shares with many others that right now are preparing for TCS Lidingöloppet 2025. That’s also why he started the Team TCS Runners at the office in Stockholm where colleagues meet up every other week and run together. They leave the office and head down to the lush Humlegården park in central Stockholm where they build strength, technique and stamina. Each session is about 45 minutes long.
TCS sponsors marathons because health and well-being is a catalyst for positive change.
TCS sponsors races and marathons all over the world, among them TCS London Marathon and TCS Sydney Marathon. Health and well-being is a catalyst for positive change and innovation, for both people and society, and it contributes to long-term success in all aspects of life.
“It is a lot of fun to gather people around running and our sponsorship. It is also a lot easier to become a good runner if you set your goals together with other runners.”
“In business, as well as in running, you need to be persistent and work methodically to complete projects and develop good partnerships”, says Andreas Hjalmarsson.
Andreas' 3 best tips to get ready for TCS Lidingöloppet
We asked Andreas to give us three tips on how to become a better runner and prepare for TCS Lidingöloppet. Here are his answers:
1) Find your pace
“Find out which pace you can handle. Use a runner’s watch. Train so you can keep that one tempo during the whole race.”
2) Challenge yourself
“Push yourself and step out of your comfort zone. Let one of your regular sessions be at a higher tempo and run intervals. That will help you manage TCS Lidingöloppets tough hills.”
3) Find your routine
“One session doesn’t get you ready for TCS Lidingöloppet. You need to find a routine. Make sure to do three to four training sessions per week. For example: one shorter session at a higher pace, one a bit longer and a third session where you do some other exercise you like doing. Regardless of how you choose to do it, the most important thing is that you find a good routine. That will be the main thing that helps you overcome the challenges of TCS Lidingöloppet.
Have a great run!
